New this year to YVR, several drop off locations are available for the public to take their old or broken holiday lights to have them recycled: Walmart, Natural Grocers, and Ace Hardware. The first two locations have bins located outside the business and are collected and recycled by Twin Enviro.
Ace Hardware has partners with Lights for Life, who recycles old and broken holiday string lights for the benefit of kids with cancer. Proceeds go to families that have a child with cancer. This annual campaign runs November 1st through February 15, 2014 and must be taken to Ace during business hours: 8am-8pm Monday-Friday; 8am-5:30pm Saturday; and 9am-5pm Sunday.
Don’t throw those old and broken string lights in the trash!
