Event Details

The Steamboat Art Museum has a new exhibit representing four of the West’s most noted contemporary plein air painters, Ralph Oberg, Skip Whitcomb, Matt Smith, and Dan Young. This exhibition will bring together old and new work including studies and studio paintings that feature beautiful landscapes, along with photographs of their adventures.
The exhibit opens on December 4. However, it will be available to view until August 2021.
Plein air is an important medium for capturing a moment in time amidst changing climates and environments. YVSC and Yampatika are contributing educational displays to this unique, environment-focused exhibit. YVSC will be presenting images and related data on how the Yampa Valley is experiencing climate change and how you can join YVSC and our community in taking climate action. Additionally, Yampatika will be contributing youth-focused educational content on erosion, landscape-change, and the hydrologic cycle.
