Join Routt County Environmental Health Department, the Routt County Litter Solutions Committee, and YVSC in beautifying our streets!
If you’ve been walking or riding the streets since the yearly melt-off, you too have seen the usual waste, litter, and strange items sitting in our drainages that has collected through winter. This annual event yeields hundreds of bags of this stuff, and needs hundreds of volunteers to do so. Registration begins at 8am at the County Annex building (enter off 6th street) (coffee and donuts!), and then orange-vested volunteers spend the morning picking up this unsightly stuff on a stretch of highway or county road of their choice.
Volunteers are treated to a BBQ from 12-1 at “the Beach” by Howelsen – fresh burgers and lots of prizes! The Routt County Litter Solutions Committee will present it’s 2nd annual Keep it Green Keep it Clean award to the group that is most dedicated to keeping litter off our streets and grass.
