The Colorado Mountain College Beekeeping Club at the Steamboat Springs campus will be hosting an all-day beekeeping workshop with beekeeping guru Greg McMahan of “To Bee or not to Bee” in Denver (http://tobeeornottobee.us/). The workshop will be held at the CMC campus in room 216 of the Academic Building, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, on Sunday, April 20. Greg will be bringing CMC’s first bees with him so that attendees can work with them during the workshop. The workshop will include hands-on experience installing the bees into their hives as well as lots of classroom time learning about the ecology, life-history, and diseases of bees, and how to keep bees.
Cost for the workshop is $75, and the Club is sponsoring 10 spots for CMC students who would like to learn about beekeeping! Proceeds from additional attendees will be donated to the Beekeeping Club.
Space is limited, so please reserve your spot soon! To do so, contact Elyse Tanner at CMC (970-870-4544; etanner@coloradomtn.edu). Tell her if you are a student, faculty member, staff member, or community member, and she will add your name to the list of attendees. Full payment will be due on April 14.
