The Routt County Climate Action Collaborative is accepting community applications for its Board of Directors through Thursday, November 17, 2022.
The Routt County Climate Action Collaborative was developed in 2021 to provide a collaboration and implementation framework for the Routt County Climate Action Plan (CAP) through regional decision making and alignment. The Board currently oversees 5 Working Groups (Economy, Energy, Land Use, Transportation and Waste) tasked with identifying and prioritizing key actions to support and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at the local and regional level.
“Board membership is a unique opportunity to offer substantive expertise and critical stakeholder perspective to move this timely climate plan forward,” commented Beth Melton, Collaborative Board Chair.
The Collaborative Board consists of 9 members, including 4 community members and a representative from each of the local government partners – Routt County, City of Steamboat Springs, and the Towns of Hayden, Oak Creek and Yampa.
Community representatives shall reflect geographic representation from across the county, as well as from the nonprofit and private sectors, and climate plan interest and experience. Applicants may also be invited to serve on working groups depending on areas of expertise.
There is currently one 3-year seat available. The application can be found here and also on the City and County websites. The deadline for submitting community applications is Thursday, November 17, 2022. Appointment will start January 1, 2023.
