Geothermal energy will play a key role in the energy transition of the Yampa Valley. Our expert speakers include Matt Sares, Chief Hydrogeology Section, Colorado Division of Water Resources who will address geothermal regulations including ground-water protection. Dr. Paul Morgan, Senior Geothermal Geologist at the Colorado Geological Survey and faculty member of the Colorado School of Mines Center for Space Resources, will discuss the geology of Steamboat Springs and Geothermal Energy Office will present on Colorado’s geothermal energy vision and funding opportunities for geothermal energy.
