Join Yampa Valley Climate Crew to protect valuable cottonwood trees along the Yampa River from beaver activity! YVSC’s Yampa River Forest Restoration Project aims to restore a riparian forest along the Yampa and Elk Rivers to increase shade and thereby mitigate rising river temperatures. Part of this work includes saving trees from beaver activity, which can limit shade potential where it is most needed. We will build small cages around the trees that will protect them for many years, allowing them to mature enough to realize their shading potential. Meet at Stockbridge Transit Center, then we will travel to the site together.
