Spring is here, and we’re all looking forward to days spent outside, connecting with nature and with one another. That’s why we at YVSC are excited to bring back a summer activity staple, the CARbon-Free Challenge, taking place from June 1-30. Last year a record number of 211 participants participated in the challenge, logging 10,752 miles which helped saved 474 gallons of gas and avoided 4.1 tons of CO2 emissions. Let’s break that record again! As in years past, participants will log their miles and have the ability to take part as a solo rider, family, or adult team. Participants can log miles for commuting, running errands, going out, etc., all while using an alternative form of travel (e.g. walking, biking, longboarding, rollerblading, etc.). Riders who commit to taking alternative transportation at least once per week can expect great prizes from our local sponsors and fun prize categories. If you’re interested in participating in this year’s event on your own, with your family, or with a group of coworkers or friends, please register at the link below. Registered participants will receive more information in the coming weeks. Visit the CARbon-Free Challenge webpage for more information.
