MARCH 7, 2013 BY
Yesterday’s numbers showed the obvious local interest in the topics of Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy, and Sustainability, as over 50 participants showed for the Northwest Energy Roundtable event with YVSC and the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado. Participants included individuals and business representatives, as well as government and utility directors and officials, and experts throughout the region.
The packed agenda saw presentations from the following expert guests and the live presentations are now posted on our YouTube Channel. The links below are to the individual presentations so you can view them with the live videos.
Statewide Energy Goals and Updates on 2013 Energy Legislation, Anna Zawisza, Alliance for Sustainable Colorado
Garfield County Case Study: Successful Strategies and Overcoming Barriers, Alice Laird, Clean Energy Economy for the Region
Resource Smart: A Community Benefit Energy Efficiency Program, Barret Ramey, International Center for Appropriate and Sustainable Technology
Community Wide Economic Stability and Prosperity through Energy Efficiency (ppt), Sam Jones, All Season Financial Advisers
(If you would like this presentation given locally, please email us)
Following the presentations the group broke for the roundtable networking and brainstorming sessions on How do we replicate the Garfield Model in Routt County?
During these discussions, groups collaborated to answer three key questions:
1. Did the group want to proceed with an Energy Action Plan like Garfield County’s?
2. How should that plan be replicated, and how can we use what has already been done?
3. How do we fund these efforts?
All in all an excellent day with our partners – YVSC is thrilled with the turnout, the brainstorming, and the collaboration with our partners!
Stay tuned for a more reports on the discussions, as well as updates on future proceedings, actions, and accomplishments!
