Changes are coming to the Atmos Energy Smart Choice rebate program that helps residential and small commercial customers lower energy bills, and consumers are encouraged to take advantage of financial incentives before some options end this year.
Rebates for home energy assessments with auditor-installed quick fixes, as well as rebates for the proper sizing of natural gas boilers and furnaces, will end Dec. 31.
Home and business energy assessments are available locally through nonprofit Yampa Valley Sustainability Council with an online sign up at www.EnergySmartColorado.com. For questions, contact Suzie@yvsc.org.
The Atmos Energy Smart Choice rebate program will add some new or increased rebates starting Jan. 1 including a new $200 incentive for energy efficient tankless hot water heaters and an increase to a $400 rebate for 95 percent fuel efficient furnaces.
Full rebate information for home and small businesses as well as a custom program for large businesses is available at www.atmosenergy.com/SmartChoiceCO. Atmos offers a customized incentive program for large businesses and industrial customers pursuing energy-efficient upgrades including for multi-family housing. Developers of new commercial construction projects and existing building retrofits are eligible to apply.
