Project Title: ReTree Site Maintenance Project Description: Come work with Yampa Valley Sustainability Council to maintain previous ReTree planting sites to ensure their growth and survivability. EASY: Walking through wet fields, fence work Project Details: The ReTree planting sites are located in Steamboat Springs on the west side of the river in Rotary Park. In addition to sequestering carbon as they grow, these trees will play an important role in shading, and thereby cooling, the Yampa River, which has seen an increase in yearly temperature due to the warming climate. We will be helping these trees grow by fixing their fencing, mulching their bases, fixing their irrigation lines, and cutting back encroaching grasses.
