Are you looking for a fun activity to do with your friends, family, or coworkers this summer? YVSC’s CARbon-Free Challenge may be the perfect event for you. Currently, transportation is the number one source of emissions in the U.S., making up 29% of our emissions, and vehicle emissions can have harmful impacts on human health. So, every summer YVSC holds the CARbon-Free Challenge to encourage locals to choose alternative forms of transportation, which collectively helps reduce our community’s carbon footprint and improves our air quality. Last year, our participants helped avoid 210 gallons of gas. Let’s see if we can make it to 300 gallons this summer!

Taking place from June 1-30, participants will log their miles that they travel using alternative transportation (biking, walking, longboarding etc.) and have the ability to take part as a solo rider, family, or adult team. Riders who commit to taking alternative transportation at least once per week can expect great prizes from our local sponsors and fun prize categories. If you’re interested in participating in this year’s event on your own, with your family, or with a group of coworkers or friends, please fill out the form linked below. Registered participants will receive more information in the coming weeks.
