This year’s downtown walking tour of 3 neighbors gardens was a hit, with over 30 curious participants touring the gardens and stimulating conversation!
Homes on the tour included Sue Hansen’s house at 331 6th street, Chris and Alysa Selby’s house at 223 Spruce, and Dave and Jean Levine’s house at 202 Spruce.
The tour started at the Oak Street Community Garden where Todd Hagenbuch from the CSU Ag Extension Office discussed their Master Gardener Program, picking up in January next year, and also finished back at the community garden for Lauri Aigner’s talk on the Tower Garden.
Tour discussions included various gardening, composting, and greenhouse techniques.
If you missed this tour, never fear!

Since 2010 YVSC has hosted an annual sustainable gardens tour. Gardens highlighted on these tours are local, residential, sustainable food gardens with the goal to educate and inspire locals on growing their own food source despite our limited growing season in a high-altitude location.
