Event Details

We are currently experiencing the driest times in recorded history for the Yampa Valley. Now more than ever, we need to be making smart decisions with the way we use our water. One important way that we can adapt to drier conditions is to ensure that our gardens and landscapes are aligned with our local climate and use water efficiently.

Join us on Thursday, August 26, from 5:30-7:15 p.m. at Colorado Mountain College’s Allbright Family Auditorium and Bear Park Permaculture Center for a free workshop on water conservation practices and principles for gardens and landscaping. The workshop will feature a presentation from Western Water Management, and will focus on techniques for watering your landscape efficiently and ways to be water conscious in your landscaping and design. We will equip you with technical expertise for managing your water on your landscape.

After the presentation, the workshop will move to the permaculture center, Bear Park, to hear a panel discussion and Q&A from a landscape and native plant specialist, CSU Extension, and a local permaculture expert. This panel will focus on Yampa Valley climate-appropriate plants, landscaping construction and design, permaculture, native landscaping, and low-water-use tips for your garden.

The workshop is free, but we ask that you register here if you plan to attend.
