Fire is and will continue to be part of our environment and we all are exposed to some risk, no matter where we live. Increased fire frequency and intensity is a reality, and the complex challenge of managing and mitigating those fires will continue to be front and center during this year’s Routt County Wildfire Mitigation Conference.

The morning will be kicked off with presentations on current wildfire conditions and lessons learned from 2021. Individuals will learn about personal and home preparedness and break into smaller groups to draft their own preparedness plans. The morning will be completed with a keynote presentation on collaborative approaches to promote resilient social and ecological systems linked to our forests.
