The mountain has closed and many of us are packing up and getting ready to travel for mud season. And traveling means time to catch up on podcasts! Here is a list of my favorites on sustainability. Hope you enjoy them!
Greentech Media’s The Energy Gang is my all-time favorite podcast about Energy and Clean Technology. Wonky, yes, but worth a listen for anyone who wants to learn more about renewable energy, energy policy, or the latest in transportation and technology. https://www.greentechmedia.com/podcast/the-energy-gang
Climate One is a special project of the Commonwealth Club, the nation’s oldest and largest public affairs forum. The podcasts are interviews and bring together leaders from business, government and nonprofits to discuss how to advance sustainability and a low-carbon economy. Amazing conversations and super smart people. Get your brain ready for a workout! https://climateone.org/watch-and-listen/podcasts
Although sustainability is not the only focus of the TED Radio Hour, I’ve discovered several thought-provoking episodes on the environment and sustainability. Some of my favorites include: Networks (1/13/17), The Food We Eat (11/18/16), Finite (11/11/16), and Anthopocene (9/29/16) http://www.npr.org/podcasts/510298/ted-radio-hour
And finally, S-Town. This podcast really has nothing to do with sustainability except the main character is obsessed with climate change. If you have listened to any of This American Life or Serial podcasts, you will recognize the host, Brian Reed. It is disturbing and a little twisted, but it is a fascinating story and Brian Reed is an amazing storyteller. I ignored my family for a weekend and listened to the complete 7-hour podcast in two days. Don’t judge me. https://stownpodcast.org/, https://www.thisamericanlife.org/podcast, https://serialpodcast.org/
